OTIS FRESH FARM
OTIS Fresh Farm was founded by Steve Hughes in 2015 with the aim to help the surrounding community in Bronzeville and beyond embrace, enjoy, learn and have access to quality food grown locally. Located in a 2.5 acre site in the middle of urban Chicago South side, OTIS Fresh Farm is a food resource and active learning ground.
City Open team worked in the development of strategic framework, site planning, communication platforms, community outreach, and engagement programs. This team had a mix of project strategists, urban planners, landscape and architectural designers, community organizers and food growers who discussed site planning layouts, farming techniques and seasonality, volunteer recruiting, communication tools and resources related to urban agriculture development.
